SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (September 3, 2010)

When you feel the thunderous, automotive-powered hydroplanes of Grand Prix West take to the Bill Muncey Memorial Racecourse on Mission Bay during San Diego Bayfair, September 17-19, they’ll be maintaining an important element of Mr. Muncey’s vision. They’ll be providing the Thunder, enhancing the already amazing H1 Unlimited Hydroplanes.

‘Grand Prix West’ known for their loud roaring deck to deck action has quickly established itself as one of the premier boat racing attractions, and are thrilled to be joining other boat-racing classes scheduled to compete at the ‘Air Guard Championship presented by Degree Men’.

H1 Unlimited Chairman Sam Cole stated, “We are delighted to be able to have Grand Prix West join us in San Diego. They are a dedicated group of racers and we look forward to supporting their efforts at the Air Guard Championship presented by Degree. GPW is a great series that is growing fast and becoming very popular with fans of hydroplane racing. They will be a great addition to our event on Mission Bay.”
Grand Prix (GP) is an American Power Boat Association (APBA) class featuring supercharged big-block engines producing as much as 1500 horsepower. The 24-26 foot craft routinely attain speeds in excess of 160 miles-per-hour in the straights. Long a premier class on the east coast of North America, ‘Grand Prix West’ is the first club to organize GP racing on the west coast. GPW consists mostly, though not exclusively, of west coast teams. GP participation in the ‘Air Guard Championship presented by Degree Men’ this year will include teams from across the country.

Additionally, teams from Canada, a hotbed of the ever growing class of Grand Prix racing under the Canadian Boating Federation (CBF) banner, some will make the trek to San Diego for such a prestigious race.

GPW Team signs National Sponsor, CONGRATULATIONS TO GP-99!!

Shockwave Racing would like to Congratulate Larry Garcia and his GP-99 team on their title sponsorship with Cash4Gold. We wish you the best of luck in 2010.

February 2, 2010 Everett, WA

Grand Prix West Hydroplane racing team, RCL Motorsports is pleased to announce that Cash4Gold.com, the world's leading mail-in gold buyer will be a marketing partner of its Grand Prix hydroplane for the 2010 season. Grand Prix West Hydroplanes are the fastest piston-engine powered boats in hydroplane racing, using American-made supercharged V8 engines producing 1500 horsepower and top speeds on the water of 170mph.

"I'm very excited to be a part of the Cash4Gold team," said team owner, Larry Garcia. "Cash4Gold is a leader in the industry it pioneered and have often turned to motorsports as a valued means by which they can advertise their services. I am very pleased that they have selected our team as their sponsor representative within the hydroplane race arena. I know that fans of hydroplane racing will be strong and loyal customers for Cash4Gold."

The sponsorship program is a part of an innovative program that encourages fans of hydroplane racing interested in selling their unwanted gold jewelry to request a Refiner's Return Pak from Cash4Gold by calling 1-800-713-6135 or going to www.cash4gold.com/hydro99. These paks would be filled with unwanted gold, silver or platinum items and mailed off (postage-paid and pre-insured) to Cash4Gold's state-of-the-art processing facility in Pompano Beach, FL. Upon receipt, the company tests all items to assess their value based solely upon the quality and quantity of each piece's precious metal content. Cash4Gold uses the latest techniques and advanced technologies to ensure that all jewelry appraisals are accurate.

Once the value of the broken or unwanted jewelry is established, the company promptly mails out a check to the customer which they can cash at their convenience. If for any reason a customer is not completely satisfied with Cash4Gold's offer, or if they change their mind and decide not to sell their items, then they have 12 days from the date on the check to inform Cash4Gold, which then returns their items free of charge.

In the coming weeks, RCL Motorsports has a number of exciting new announcements in preparation for the season's kick-off event in Moses Lake, WA in early April of 2010. Larry Garcia is a veteran boat owner but 2010 marks his debut as team owner of a Grand Prix Hydroplane. The transition to hydroplane racing has been an exciting new challenge to Garcia. "I have been very surprised at the level of support and enthusiasm we have received so far," added Garcia. "We have some particularly exciting new developments we hope to announce in the coming weeks that I think will help make Grand Prix West Hydroplane racing the most exciting form of hydroplane racing in the 2010 season. I can't wait to see our boat on the water."

RCL Motorsports is a client of veteran motorsport marketing and activation agency, Mackey Marketing Group. MMG negotiated the sponsorship affiliation on behalf of RCL Motorsports.
